Constant Prayer
And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
- Colossians 1:9-14
In the kingdom of Jesus, we spend our time in prayer, often times praying for others to grow in Christ, that their minds gain spiritual wisdom, leading them to walk faithfully with Jesus, bearing good fruit, enduring life’s issues with joy, and giving thanks to the Father.
For whom do you pray every day? Is it the same person/people? Do you have a prayer list for each day of the week? Do you keep a prayer journal, so you can go back and looked at answered prayers? There is no one right way to pray except that we should not cease praying.
Take some time to consider trying a new way to pray for the next seven days and asking someone to hold you accountable.
Prayer
O Lord, mercifully receive the prayers of your people who call upon you, and grant that they may know and understand what things they ought to do, and also may have grace and power faithfully to accomplish them; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
