John 21:25, Books That Could Be Written

25 Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.

We have been given a selective history of what we need to know about Jesus. But there is no end to the greatness of Jesus. He has done much more and will do much more for you and for me throughout eternity. No one and no thing can contain him who is infinite! Praise be to God, the one and only God, who revealed himself in human flesh, so that we can know the Word and make him known in the world as his witnesses and be with him throughout eternity.

God so loved the world that

The Word became flesh to dwell among us

To show us the way to the Father

To speak truth into the sin-held world

To give life to the sheep as the Bread of Heaven

To wash us on the cross, the fallen Grain of Wheat

As the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world

We might receive power to become the children of God

And that we too may feed his sheep and his lambs

Because we too love Jesus. Amen.
