Does God save everyone? This is a question almost every Christian asks at some point. The issue is one of universal salvation: because every human being is created in the image of God, does he not save everyone? If everyone is not saved, are Christians narrow-minded? Are we exclusive? Jesus himself, in this sense, seemed narrow-minded and exclusive. "Jesus answered [Nicodemus], 'Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.'" (John 3:3) And in John 14:6 Jesus says, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

As the late Rt. Rev. John H Rodgers, Jr. writes, "Salvation is not to be found in the world's philosophies or religions. The way of salvation is to be found in Christ or better finds us through and in Him, or not at all. The obvious implication is to turn to Christ, who has already turned to us and invites us to respond."

XVIII. Of obtaining eternal Salvation only by the Name of Christ.

They also are to be had accursed that presume to say, That every man shall be saved by the Law or Sect which he professeth, so that he be diligent to frame his life according to that Law, and the light of Nature. For Holy Scripture doth set out unto us only the Name of Jesus Christ, whereby men must be saved.
